From the Founders of Global Awakening Theological Seminary

Over the last few years, we have watched the Lord build a strong connection between the intercessors and the revivalists in His Kingdom. Global Awakening Theological Seminary is the result of this connection. It has been developed by leaders who believe there is a need for better educated leaders for the Church of Jesus Christ, including those who make up the Pentecostal, Charismatic, Third Wave, and Continuationist Evangelicals.

These leaders sought to design a graduate school that rightly divides the Word of God and that believes in the power of God to perform miracles, healings, signs and wonders today as well as throughout the history of the Church and the New Testament Church. These emphases are seen in the curriculum and are carried by the faculty and administrative staff members.

We know there are many believers today who are seeking to be trained in this atmosphere, and you are probably one of them! Our prayer for you is that you grow in faith, wisdom, and boldness to fulfill God’s calling on your life, that you walk in revival and awakening, and that you forth taking the gospel mightily into the nations of the earth.

We welcome you to Global Awakening Theological Seminary!

Mission Statement

Family of Faith College was founded by the decree of the Holy Spirit for the purpose of educating, discipling, and training laborers for the Kingdom of God. The college equips students, or laborers, spiritually, academically, and practically to accomplish the Great Commission through effective service in churches, Christian schools, and businesses. The college exists to provide higher education and training in the unique environment of the New Testament pattern of church government. This government and oversight, both in churches and in the college, is provided by apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers working as members of teams bound together in deep covenant relationships.

Seminary Goals

Graduates will have an increased knowledge of the Bible and will be able to “accurately handle the Word of Truth” (2 Timothy 2:15) as they preach, teach, evangelize, disciple, lead, plant churches, develop ministries, and equip believers.

Graduates will have a clear understanding of the fundamental theology of the historic Christian faith, and be able to foster theological maturity in the body of Christ and protect the church from being “carried away by every wind of doctrine” (Eph. 4:12-14).

Continuationism, that is, the belief that God continues to speak and act in miraculous ways in the present age, is a core distinctive of this graduate school. Courses will be taught from this perspective and students will be well-versed in and able to articulate and defend this distinctive based on biblical, systematic, and historical theology with awareness of other approaches to this perspective.

Students will be able to identify and operate in the spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12 and Romans 12 as well as the five-fold ministry gifts of Ephesians 4.

Students will be able to identify the elements of Christ-like character and will walk in integrity, humility, honor of others, and the nine fruits of the Spirit.

Graduates will be mentored in the basics of discipleship, prayer, and intercession including the commanded instructions to heal the sick, cast out demons, raise the dead, and minister to the poor.

Graduates will bless the whole Church beyond the networks of International Christian Leadership Connections and Global Awakening.  They will work for unity with the other denominations and apostolic networks in the Church and will also impact the theological community by furthering their education in the best divinity schools and seminaries in the world.

History

Family of Faith College was founded in 1992 by Dr. Sam Matthews and Family of Faith Fellowship. At this time, the church had entered into a relationship with a handful of churches in their geographical area in order to work together to fulfill the Great Commission. Family of Faith College was founded in order to provide training for the members of these churches while maintaining the pastoral and apostolic covering that the local church provides. Today, this network of churches includes thousands of churches around the world! (see www.iclcnetwork.com). Family of Faith College continues to provide on campus and on-line training for men and women from these churches.

In 2014, God began to divinely connect apostolic streams of His global Church through which a graduate school with these emphases could be birthed. Specifically, a shared vision for a graduate school developed between the administration and trustees of Family of Faith College, the apostolic leaders of International Christian Leadership Connections, and the apostolic leaders of Global Awakening. These groups prayed and worked together to develop the curriculum and the faculty of what is now Global Awakening Theological Seminary. In August, 2016, the online courses were started.
